British Land has promoted Lucinda Bell, deputy finance director, to finance director with effect from May 24. She succeeds Graham Roberts (pictured)who intends to stand down from the board at the end of June.

British Land has also appointed two new non-executive directors: Simon Borrows, chairman of Greenhill & Co International and a non-executive director of Inchcape, and William Jackson, chief executive of Bridgepoint. Jackson will join the company’s audit committee on appointment.

Coupled with this news is the the further annoucement that Clive Cowdery has stepped down from his non-executive directorship of the company because of the growing demands of his other increasingly international business commitments, the company said in a statement. Chris Grigg, chief executive, said he was particularly pleased the finance director’s position was filled from within British Land.
