Union Square, Swindon

Swindon's regeneration plans are picking up pace with a Jury's Hotel due to open in May and planning for Union Square – a mixed use office led scheme – well underway

2009-04-16

The development – due to begin onsite in summer 2010, will bring with it 55,000 sq m of high quality offices, 25,000 sq m of retail and leisure space, a new bus interchange and new residential property, creating an 18 hour hub within the town centre. The town is experiencing a vastly improved public realm with the creation of Wharf Green - an outdoor area with BBC Big Screen and an open space for community use. The area will also shortly be revitalised with the creation of ‘living green’ walls to give a horticultural feel, as well as the installation of LED lighting into the street scape, which will light up in differing weather conditions.
