London Thames Gateway Development Corporation (LTGDDC) plans to transform its district into a vibrant residential and Creative Industries Quaarter, (CIQ) emphasising on Barking and its surrounding areas

This is in addition to the already mobilised plans to regenerate the land bordering the Lea River which will create a new continuous area of parkland stretching from the River Thames up to the Olympic Park. The Thames Gateway is ‘one of the most attractive’ investment and commercial development locations in the world today according to a report commissioned by the LTGDC. By 2016 commercial property development in the area could reach 5.4m sq ft of office space and 4.3m sq ft of industrial.
