Creating a more secure world
ADT is the UK's leading provider of electronic fire and security solutions, protecting 89 out of the UK's top 100 companies and more than 160,000 homes
2008-06-08With a business based on the concept of total capability, ADT provide a complete range of fire and security solutions as well as monitoring and system maintenance – taking responsibility for all stages of the work.
With a 5,000 strong team, ADT combine nationwide coverage with a local presence. Whatever the fire and security challenge, ADT provide tailored solutions to meet the demands of the situation.
The yellow ADT alarm box is a familiar sight in high streets, business parks and housing estates across Europe, but this is only part of a wide product range that includes, fire detection, gaseous extinguishing, electronic article surveillance, care communications and remote system monitoring.
Every solution, installation and building specification is prepared individually to deliver a service that is focused on our customers’ needs and priorities. The specialist knowledge within ADT, gained through years of experience, ensures that building solutions are delivered to a high standard, from the smallest house to national arenas like the O2 or Twickenham Rugby Stadium.
Security is an essential resource in which to invest. Securing the site, equipment and staff, as well as implementing an integrated fire and security system or intelligent building solution, is a major responsibility.
There are so many simple, yet effective, ways of protecting people and property - good lighting in and around a building and throughout the car park, having a minimum number of designated key holders who are trained in responding to alerts, and simply being aware of what’s going on in and around the building helps. Technology-based security solutions like CCTV cameras, intruder alarms, and access control systems are, however, the most obvious crime deterrent.
Operating across the UK and Ireland, ADT has the commitment, resources and experience needed when protecting people and property.
When considering security, there is an extensive range of Access Control Systems, from single door systems to fully networked systems, controlling both public and staff access, as well as tracking the movement of high value equipment. Alternatively, sophisticated proximity cards, hands-free tokens and biometrics readers ensure security for more sensitive areas.
CCTV Systems are an essential part of all security systems, especially in a campus environment, and are available as single camera systems or multi-camera systems linked to feed into a single control centre. These systems can also be integrated into Intruder Alarms or Access Control Systems in order to provide specific viewing functions, such as presenting a picture to a monitor when an Access Card is presented to a reader or when a movement detector activates.
ADT also support customers with a fully comprehensive Alarm Monitoring service. All intruder systems can be monitored by ADT’s high integrity Alarm Receiving Centre, ensuring that alerts receive the appropriate response and false alarms are reduced. In addition, ADT’s RESOLVE centre ensures that technical assistance is only a phone call away 24hrs a day.
Designing for security
Cost effective design is a priority. ADT’s specialist design teams are involved from the outset, and are accustomed to working alongside architects, engineers, approval authorities and other specialists. Extensive use is made of our own CAD/CAM programmes, which allow for accurate design, rapidly and with great flexibility, offering systems precisely tailored to the requirements of each build project.
A particular strength of ADT Fire and Security is our ability to integrate different types of systems, whether they are linked security systems (e.g. CCTV monitoring for Access Control purposes) or combined fire and security systems interfaced to a Building Management System.
It is essential that all businesses and organisations have confidence in the fire system entrusted with protecting staff and visitors. ADT continually strives to further develop its fire technology to ensure fires are responded to as quickly as possible.
The fact that so many people take good fire protection for granted places huge responsibility on those who must ensure that the perception is indeed the reality. Regulators, insurers, specifiers, fire safety officers and fire protection companies all have an important role to play in meeting the public expectation of good fire protection.
Working with ADT, the leading security specialist, from the outset, buildings can be designed with systems that support safety, security and freedom.
