Innovation, innovation, innovation
When looking for the perfect place to start up or relocate your business then location, location, location has to be a major consideration
Set in the heart of the country, the Newark Beacon enjoys enviable views across the market town of Newark-on-Trent and the road and rail links couldn’t be better. Travellers have easy access via the A1 and A46, and there are two railway stations on the doorstep. Newark Northgate station offers a direct service to London which takes less than an hour and a half.
But as well as location, innovation, innovation, innovation is also a major thing to take into account. Newark Beacon is a state-of-the art business innovation centre with cutting-edge stylish facilities. But this technology is not to the detriment of the environment. The centre uses rainwater harvesting and the building is heated by a biomass boiler.
To date, the Beacon is home to 12 businesses with another one due in the next few weeks. This equates to 65 percent occupancy, which is fantastic news given it will be only eight months since the doors opened for business.
Newark Beacon is a £3.9m project operated by Newark and Sherwood District Council in partnership with East Midlands Development Agency, Nottinghamshire County Council, the Alliance Sub-Regional Strategic Partnership and the Lindum Group. The centre has been designed to incorporate 31 units, a café and breakout area with awning, reception services and meeting/conference facilities on two floors.
