SEGRO has won planning consent for more than 215,000 sq ft of new office accommodation at IQ, in Farnborough, Hampshire – one of the UK’s biggest business parks. The company will add the space to to the existing 500,000 sq ft site where it envisages four new buildings of 32,000 sq ft-60,000 sq ft.
The plans for the new space form part of SEGRO’s long-term intention to create a further 500,000 sq ft of space at the park near Farnborough Airport and the town centre. The mixed-use development features a hotel, childcare nursery, bar and restaurant. Redrow is also building nearly 500 new homes at the site.
The new offices are currently being marketed on a pre-let basis. Construction work will start once the buildings have been let. The news comes hard on the heels of SEGRO’s pre-let of a 75,445 sq ft warehouse at Slough Trading Estate to Selig UK on a 15-year term.
