Humberts Leisure has appointed Rachel Whaley associate director at its Broughton Hall office near Skipton, North Yorkshire. She joined the specialist leisure property firm as senior planner in 2007 and had previously worked as a planning officer for the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.
Whaley said the range of planning issues the national park authority were currently involved with was a hugely diverse mix. They included coastal erosion along the East Yorkshire coastline, diversification of rural estates and the implementation of renewable energy.
“Increasingly, local planning authorities are starting to recognise the significant contribution which holiday accommodation brings to the local economy through increased visitor spend and job creation”, she said.
